These comprehensive e-learning courses & certifications, endorsed by the Professional Association of Wilderness Guides and Instructors (PAWGI), are geared towards individuals interested to start a career as Wilderness Guides, or outdoor enthusiasts wishing to gain wilderness knowledge.

The North American version focuses on environments north of the 45th parallel (Canada/Alaska). The European version focuses on environments north of the 45th parallel (Scandinavia).
The courses are entirely delivered through an online course composed of 4 modules: Legislation & PoliciesCommercial OperationsLaw EnforcementCultural, Historial, and Natural Interpretation

Each module includes a set of multi-media materials to be reviewed, assignments graded by an instructor and/or online quizzes. Upon completion of all modules and assignments, candidate receives a Certificate of Completion.

Course is completed at the candidates' own pace.

Following successful completion of the course, candidates will have acquired the specialized knowledge with respect to Canadian National Parks in general, and Kluane National Park specifically, as it relates to legislation and policies, commercial operations, law enforcement, as well as cultural, historical, and natural interpretation.

Certification is achieved through the Professional Association of Wilderness Guides and Instructors (PAWGI), by completing all course modules, assignments, and/or online quizzes, with a passing mark of 70%.

You must be 16 year or older to attend this course. As it is an entry-level course, no previous outdoor or wilderness experience is required.

You will need to apply directly through the Professional Association of Wilderness Guides and Instructors (PAWGI) upon successful completion of this course if you wish to receive a National Park specialization.

National Park specialization is available to Certified Wilderness Guide and higher.
Courses start every week, subject to instructor availability, and there is no time limit to complete the course.

The course includes all required course materials in an electronic format (the purchase of actual textbook is therefore not required), all tuition fees, as well as access to one or more PAWGI certified Wilderness Instructors.
